SYHA Board Meeting
January 18th  2010

I.                    Meeting called to order by Randy W.

II.                  Review and motion to approve November minutes Dan M., 2^nd Deb

a.                Financial report submitted from Kristy E. Motion to approve by Cherie,  2^nd Steve

III.                Building/Maintenance Report – We had some issues with the zamboni and the locker room heat during the cold weather; both are fine now. Dan M. has been working on the on-demand water heater; there is a wire that does not have a good connection. Dan has the outdoor rink ready; Randy inquired about teams having outdoor practices added to the schedule, which Dan will e-mail managers to see about interest.

a.       Dan M. will do some research on MN District 2

b.      By-laws have been updated. Motion made by Kristy to approve; 2^nd by Deb

VI.                New business

a.                We would like to hire a company to pursue new sign advertisers. We’ve received a proposal from Expressive Design to promote our association. Motion made to move forward with Expressive Design made by Kristy, 2^nd John G.

b.               Dan M and Randy will work on a piece to send to our sign sponsors to come to the February 4 high school hockey game and have them recognized. Steve will advise the paper. We will look to grow this each year.

c.                Parent conduct: If a parent is not following our written code of conduct, as stated in our by-laws, they will be required to meet with board representatives to determine what the issue is and find a reasonable solution. The board will complete an incident report that the parents will be required to sign to be kept in the association file. If parents are repeat offenders, the board has the right to remove that family from our association.

d.               Dan will be sure to leave Wednesday nights open for all teams from 6^th-10^th (birth year 95-98) grade during the school year, so we are not conflicting with religion.

e.                The hockey banquet tentative date is February 28 at 6:30 p.m. Dan will see about reserving the high school multi-purpose room.
