SYHA Board Meeting
February 11th, 2008

In Attendance:Jim M., Kristy E., Debbie Q., Dawn L., Justin L., Dan G., Gerry L., John G., Cherie L. 

 Presidents Message:  Congratulations to the four teams that made it to State.  This is a sign of how our association has continued to grow.  We are growing and teams are doing well.  We are finally stable.

 Financial Report given by Kristy E.  Motion to approve by Justin, 2^nd by Jim M.

Board of Education:  Referendum vote in April.  They provided information regarding the upcoming referendum.  Voting will be held on April 1, 2008.  Motion to hand out the information provided at the banquet by Justin, 2^nd by John.  The SYHA Board will not take a stand one way or another; however, we will allow them to use us as an information location. 

Tartan –
 Dan will send an e-mail requesting a credit card to pay their balance in full.  Dan will include the board in that e-mail.

 Motion to approve minutes by Justin, 2^nd by Cherie. 

Building/ maintenance report –  
Zamboni room exterior door cable snapped.  Dan had fixed. 

Committee Reports –
Other associations have not yet picked next years dates for their tournaments.  Dan and Gerry are continuing to work on this. 

Old Business –
Government Agency Proposal:  How are we going to approach asking local agencies for their assistance?  WE would like to establish a baseline for the answers that other communities provide.  Do they help with snow removal on the outdoor ice?  Pay the water bill?  What do we want them to help us with?  WE are going to collect data and come up with what we would like to ask for.  Great project for the end of the season.  Create a committee to establish a list of questions to present at the next board meeting.  We should contact 10 associations to compare our data.  Committee is Justin, Randy, Cherie, and John.
